The definition of FAM is familiarization of many of our travel industry vendors. These FAM's, familiarization trips are for Certified Travel Agents (CTA) to experience the sites, amenities, services and the facilities of many national and international vendors. The vendor will explain all of the opportunities they offer you before you take the test. You must take a test on the average about 20 questions. You cannot fail the test. If you do not pass you can take it over. After the test you can print your certified document on your computer. You will hear from the vendors about current and future FAM trips & events.
My husband, Milton and I are FAM certified all over the world. We have been invited to many FAM trips. Our latest FAM was in Las Vegas, NV at the ENCORE Hotel, one of Steve Wynn's hotels. At the ENCORE we stayed for 3 days, 2 nights, a show and delicious meals. When we check out on the television screen in our room the checkout bill was twelve dollars (tips due at dining that was charged to the room) and a thank you for visiting the ENCORE. WOW!
